Low Income Loans

There is never enough money to go around. And then the fridge breaks down, or the car.

The No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) provides people on low incomes with safe, fair and affordable credit.

No interest. No fees. No charges.

DIVRS can help you apply for loans of up to $1500 for essential goods and services such as:

• Appliances like a fridge or washing machine

• Car repairs

• Medical costs

• Home mobility aids like rails and ramps

• Education essentials like laptops and books

• Household furniture and repairs

To be eligible for a loan you must:

• Hold a current health care card or be able to show that you live on a low income

• Have lived where you are now for at least three months (some exceptions apply)

• Have a suitable need

• Be able to repay the loan

Repayments are made fortnightly over 12 months at an affordable amount. Repayments can be made using Centrepay - a free bill paying service that makes deductions from your Centrelink payments.

Loans cannot be used for cash, bond, rent arrears, debt consolidation, holidays or bills.
