Your skills always in demand

DIVRS is a volunteer-driven organisation. There is a lot going on behind the scenes and we are always looking for ways to do things better, to make DIVRS stronger.

That’s why we welcome your special skills.

We always have projects that we’d like to do. They might be in administration to keep DIVRS running smoothly. Or communications to get the word out about how we work and the impact we are making.

current opportunities

Social media
Do you enjoy creating graphics and content for social media?
We have two social media roles available that will take just a couple of hours a week:

  • Urban Food - your posts will focus on growing food, sustainability and food security

  • Community Information - share information on the issues we care about and the services we offer

Website management
Websites always need tweaks and updates. There are no set hours a week for this role; it’s ad hoc when we need it. We use Squarespace.

IT support
It’s the little things in IT that can make a big difference. From updating computers to seeing that the wi-fi works properly, and troubleshooting those pesky issues. You’ll need to easily get to Preston and have sound IT knowledge.

Policy, research and advocacy
Have an area of interest aligned to the work we do?

  • Scan the policy landscape DIVRS operates in and bring to the Executive Officer's attention relevant research, campaigns, initiatives, reports, issues and key stakeholders. You will provide summaries and recommendations for action.

  • Draft submissions to inquiries about issues that are important for the people who access DIVRS' services.

  • Research and draft papers, reports or other materials to advocate for the issues we care about to increase community resilience, inclusion and sustainability.

Key areas of interest include: emergency relief; poverty; food security; sustainability and local food systems; disability; physical and mental health and wellbeing; multiculturalism and diversity; homelessness; issues affecting people experiencing vulnerability; social isolation; building capacity and financial resilience; place-based disadvantage; road safety; volunteering.
